Volunteer House Rules
Our volunteer house in Mae Wang is shared by people from many countries. These rules keep it comfortable, clean and safe for everyone.
- 1Never take food, drinks or personal belongings belonging to another volunteer without permission. Please label personal food with your name.
- 2Respect quiet hours and your housemates' sleeping times.
- 3Clean shared areas (kitchen, bathrooms, living areas) after you use them.
- 4No smoking in the rooms or inside the house.
- 5Alcohol: please drink responsibly, never before or during your sessions, and never let it disturb others in the house.
- 6No outside guests may stay overnight without permission from the coordinator.
- 7Look after your own valuables — passports, wallets and electronics.
- 8Be on time for your sessions. If you are sick, tell the coordinator in advance so sessions can be rearranged.
- 9Tell the coordinator if you plan to be away overnight or if you have any problem.
- 10Keep your room tidy, and wash the bedding provided before you check out (see the housekeeping deposit).
- 11Respect Thai culture, our neighbours and the local community.
Checkout
Before you leave, please clean your room and wash the bedding provided. If it is prepared according to the checkout instructions, your 200 THB housekeeping deposit is returned. How the housekeeping deposit works
Safety and personal belongings
Mae Wang is generally a quiet local community, but volunteers remain responsible for their personal belongings.
Please keep passports, wallets, electronics and valuables in a secure place.
If something is lost or you have a safety concern, contact our coordinator immediately.
