How to Get to Our Volunteer House in Mae Wang
Important: find us by our official links, not by name
Do not search only for “Baan Bon Doi” because there are several similarly named places around Chiang Mai. Always use our official Google Maps or Grab links.
No free pickup service
We do not provide a free pickup service from the airport, train station or bus station. Volunteers travel to the volunteer house in Mae Wang District independently — by Grab, private taxi or the local yellow songthaew. Mae Wang is outside Chiang Mai city, so please allow extra travel time.

Mae Wang District, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Mae Wang is a rural district south-west of Chiang Mai city — roughly 40 km, or about an hour by car depending on traffic.
The exact address and map pin are sent to volunteers after acceptance.

By Grab
Grab works well in Chiang Mai. Open our Grab destination link so the drop-off point is exactly right, and check the driver is happy to go to Mae Wang before you set off.
By private taxi
A private taxi from the airport, train station or city to our volunteer house costs around 500 THB. Agree the price before you leave and show the driver our Google Maps pin.
By yellow songthaew (public transport)
Yellow songthaew (shared pick-up trucks) leave from Chiang Mai Gate towards Ban Kad, Mae Wang. Tell the driver you are going to Ban Kad, then message us on WhatsApp when you arrive there so we can give you final directions.

Before you travel
Tell us when you're coming
- Please send us your confirmed arrival date and approximate arrival time before travelling to Mae Wang, so we can prepare your room.
- Message us on WhatsApp on the day you travel.
- Save our Google Maps pin offline in case you lose mobile signal.
- Have some Thai baht in cash for the journey.

Late arrival
If you will arrive late in the evening or at night, please tell us in advance so that someone can welcome you at the house.
On arrival, our coordinator will take you through:
- Welcome and orientation with the coordinator
- Room allocation based on availability
- Wi-Fi access
- House rules walkthrough
- Introduction to the teaching system and your session schedule
- 200 THB housekeeping deposit (returned when you leave the room and bedding ready)
