Chiang Mai Volunteer Life welcomes international volunteers to our home in Mae Wang, Chiang Mai.
Our cultural exchange connects international visitors with Thai learners who want to gain confidence speaking English.

Help Thai learners speak English
Join relaxed online conversation sessions of about 40 minutes with students of all ages. Everyday topics, games and encouragement — not classroom teaching.

Good to know
Rooms are allocated on arrival
Accommodation is free. Rooms are allocated by our team based on availability on your arrival date, and private rooms cannot be guaranteed. Room types and facilities
Independent travel
We don’t run a free pickup service. Volunteers reach Mae Wang by Grab, private taxi or the yellow songthaew — directions from Chiang Mai Airport, train station and city.
200 THB housekeeping deposit
There is no program fee. The deposit is returned when you leave your room clean and wash the bedding provided. How the deposit works
Where we are
Mae Wang District, Chiang Mai
Mae Wang is a rural district south-west of Chiang Mai city — roughly 40 km, or about an hour by car depending on traffic.
Volunteers who choose Mae Wang want the countryside version of Chiang Mai: a small community, local markets, rivers and mountains, with the city’s temples, cafés and night markets still within reach on days off.
Working remotely from the Chiang Mai countryside is possible too — there is Wi-Fi and a shared workspace at the house.
